A trade show usually means (long) travel, (many) nights in a hotel and loooong days on your feet – and to say nothing of being social and smiling all day long. It can be backbreaking and stressful experience, but it doesn’t have to be!
Here’s our collection of basic tips to help you survive and get the most out of your next participation!
1 – EAT GOOD BREAKFAST
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it influences practically every dimension of our being during the day, including how we perform at a trade fair.
2 – WEAR FLAT AND COMFORTABLE SHOES
Don’t wear new shoes or high heels – at a fair you’ll walk a lot and stand forever.
3 – DON’T SKIP THE LUNCH
Low energy = no results.
4 – PARTY ALL NIGHT LONG – NOT
No matter how tempting it would be to stay awake the whole night and party like never before, remember you still need to be in good shape the day after.
5 – DRINK WATER
Water is involved in many processes in the body, and it has been said that being just 2% dehydrated can start to hinder your body’s ability to perform. Long story short: keep yourself hydrated during the fair.
6 – HAVE A BASIC SURVIVAL KIT WITH YOU
Ibuprofen, blister plasters, portable charger, breath mints, eye drops…
7 – BRING (HEALTHY) SNACKS
Have some nueces, dried fruit or protein bars in your bag – this might feel like saving your life in the most unexpected moment of starvation. Or, you can just as well carry some bars of chocolate with you – if it makes you happy, it must be healthy. It could also be a good idea to keep eating chocolate little by little during the whole day – just in case.
8 – HAVE A BREAK
Have a break, and leave the booth for a while. Take a walk to increase blood flow to the brain. This keeps you from getting unfocused and tired during the long exhibition day.
9 – IF URGENT, HAVE A GLASS OF WINE
Some people say grapes are the healthiest food in the world. Wine is made of grapes.
You do the math.
